The other day Maddy (our oldest daughter) and I were playing. I was asking if she was a big girl or a little girl. She said "big girl". I said "Ok, well daddy has to go to work, can you take care of Annabelle (our youngest). At first it was a chipper yes, but after giving it some thought she said "I can't feed her daddy; I am not high enough. But you are high enough."

For those who need translators, she did not think she could fix the bottle that Annabelle needed because she couldn't reach the necessary ingredients to do so. But I, being all 6 ft tall that I am, could. Without putting it into eloquent words, Maddy had shown me what it meant to be dependent on her Father. Jesus did not say "when you pray call on your business partner or associate in heaven" He said "when you pray call on your FATHER in heaven"

In life we try to do so many things on our own, some good and some bad. We will try to support our family without ever seeking God. We will try to make smart decisions without asking the one who has ALL the information. When the truth lies in the fact that you and I, no matter how bright we pretend to be, simply aren't high enough. We need our Father.

Just a thought. Be Blessed. KL
