Nehemiah 2:17b, “ Come let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem that we may no longer be a reproach.”

Those words came from a true visionary after he had inspected the broken walls of Jerusalem in the dark. The darkest moments of our lives are when things that should be just aren’t. Our marriages are not filled with commitment and passion. Our support for our children and their interest lacks zeal and enthusiasm. Our love for God and His church has taken a number.

What is it that should be rebuilt in your life? Can you identify the thing that is a reproach (a condition of shame or disgrace) to God? Let’s do an inventory together. Pray this prayer earnestly and invite the Holy Spirit to speak to you, “ Father, I am keenly aware that in this world of compromise and complacency I could be affected and take on a lethargic state that is not pleasing to you. Show me where I’m failing You, my family, my church, my friends, my employers, and all of whom I share this life. Rid me of worldly philosophy and transform my mind to imagine something better. Then O’ God, give me strength for the rebuilding effort of what ever is broken in my life. Amen.”

Some things just shouldn’t be. Come on let’s make some honest assessments! We must be good at inspecting our wall’s from time to time. They represented safety and peace for Jerusalem and the same could be said for us. Walls of integrity, faith, passion and love should be rebuilt to keep the enemy out! You’ll hear our friend Holy Spirit speaking if you are really listening.

Come Let Us Rebuild,
Gregg
